I've saved and saved and am now ready to start looking for a "gently used" Birkin. I know I want a 35 in black. I'm waffling between palladium and gold hardware.
I am working on getting a 35cm matte Havanne Birkin. I am torn between gold and palladium hardware? What do you think looks better and more classic? Thanks! You can't go wrong with black with GHW or gold with GHW. Both are so classic and versatile. I have black with GHW as my first birkin, and am waiting for my gold with GHW now. Gold hardware is truly the classic. It was the only metal offered for many years at Hermes and I believe that it goes with everything. For this reason, most vintage bags will have gold hardware. Palladium hardware is newer and looks more contemporary/modern. I feel that perhaps it looks a bit younger and perhaps more subtle. I have a Birkin 30 in Togo leather, palladium hardware in the color Black. Have this for 3 years now. My second order I then acquired a Birkin 30 in Etain, Togo leather with rose gold hardware.
