Went to the Panerai website and chatted online with them regarding this.Panerai wanted to mount a large dome 3 mm thick Plexiglass crystal into the PAM 372. Between owners and fans, this was a point of contention. Detractors contend that stains are caused so quickly by a Plexiglass crystal and have no room on a luxury watch. So, they would choose the sapphire option. I am considering a PAM 372 with plexiglass. It comes with a spare glass and is in unworn condition (for 5k). Is the plexiglass problematic and/or expensive. Should I steer clear and look for an alternative model - although I love the colour combination of the 372. With regards to Plexiglass against sapphire crystals, there are pros and cons. For one, plexiglass does not break although it collects scratches over time. But who cares?

I hear my Panerasti friends talking about the warmth of the crystal and the Panerai DNA and I say, "whatever".
