A long time employee of Rolex Service Center in Dallas called earlier this morning to tell me that I can change my 16710 to a Pepsi bezel if I so desire regardless of which bezel the watch came with. She told me "It doesn't matter what the watch came delivered with". I had RSC NYC replace my Oyster for a new Jubilee on my 16710. They did it that same day and got my Oyster back. Of course I asked if I would get it back first before Ibright it in, they said Yes. I’m also wondering about new bezel inserts; currently I have a Coke and want the other two colors, but not sure where to source them from. Yes, it’s very easy to change the insert. Maybe it’s my delicate fingers but I did have trouble fully seating the insert when I replaced mine. I would recommend picking up a pair of plastic tipped Jewelers pliers. This was a game changer for me and made the swap very easy.
In regards to replacing the bezel on a Rolex 16710 from a Coke insert to a Pepsi insert, what are the risks or differences for replacing the insert as compared to a gen? I use a dull pocket knife wrapped in an eyeglass cloth to change inserts on my 16710. Pop the flat of the blade under the bezel right between the 10 and 12 hour markers on the GMT insert and sort of shimmy it up and down it until the bezel pops off.
