My watchmaker can buy the replacement crystal from breitling and install it for you. . Where as Breitling uses a sapphire crystal, it's ok to remove with a metal . I read this thread and decided to try and use this lens cleaner and lens tissue that I have to clean the sapphire crystal on my Breitling B-1. It seemed to work wonderfully, the crystal looks immaculate and the process of cleaning it was very easy. My watchmaker can buy the replacement crystal from breitling and install it for you. You need to buy a coulee gaskets/ seals at the same time. It's much less than having breitling do it.
Where as Breitling uses a sapphire crystal, it's ok to remove with a metal polisher because it is hard as hell to scratch. That is NOT the same case with polycarbonate lenses, which scratch far easier than glass, let alone ultra-hard sapphire crystal.
