I had a melting-sticky glazing issue for a 2014 Empreinte speedy which started melting around 2016 and I finally got round to bring it to LV in 2017. I asked them if they would repair it. These three bags ranging from the year 2016 to 2018 of their manufacturing year.The idea is to apply the lotion to the superficial dirt and remove it. Never apply the lotion to the handles directly, you’ll create watermarks that won’t go away. This way of cleaning Louis Vuitton handles won’t help you to magically turn them into new handles, however, the leather will look cleaner and more even. I had my croisette handles melt on both sides and I went to an Lv store and try to charge me saying it may have been hand sanitizer from the Covid days but I always used the shoulder strap. I went to another LV store and they repaired it for free.
So I brought my Empreinte Speedy 25 B into LV a couple of weeks ago to have the handles and strap checked out because of the glazing melting. The bag was then sent to be repaired (straps and handles to be replaced) and I was told repair would take 4-6 weeks. I recently discovered some glazing issues on the straps of my PSM and have it sent in repair right now so using my PM as my daily. Just noticed yesterday that the glazing on my strap has literally MELTED off some on some areas.
LV has stood by their product and gave me store credit for all bags except the onthego which got repaired and I still own it. LV has been struggling with the canvas quality since one of the components they used was banned in the EU.
